Chapter Philanthropy

Chapter Philanthropy

Our chapter places an emphasis on the phrase "Sigma Serves Children" in regard to our philanthropic and fundraising efforts. With that in mind, we recently started working with the Marshfield Children's Hospital in a variety of platforms.

During our 2019 Spring retreat, we dedicated a portion of our time to creating tie blankets for the Children at the Marshfield Children Hospital, and were able to donate eight blankets to the hospital. A few members of our chapter were able to travel to Marshfield and deliver the blankets personally.

In the Spring of 2019, we worked with the Marshfield Children's Hospital to apply for the Robbie Page Memorial Grant, which is a grant created by Tri Sigma Nationals that benefits play therapy programs in hospitals. We were able to receive funding for the hospital that will allocate them funding for a variety of musical items as well panels for the hospital's "Backyard Patio".

During our Fall 2019 recruitment, we created crafts that we will be donating to the Marshfield Children's Hospital. The kits include a variety of coloring sheets, crayons, and stickers for the children receiving treatment at the hospital.

This past Spring, we implemented a new fundraising event called "Root Beer Floats for Robbie Page" which is an event that we were inspired to start from other Tri Sigma chapters. This event raises funds for the Robbie Page Memorial Fund, which is the funding that goes towards "Robbie Page Memorial Grants", such as the one received by Marshfield Children's Hospital.

We have a variety of other events planned in the near future to raise funds for the Sigma Foundation, The Robbie Page Memorial Fund, and March of Dimes!
